Stevin Minie OD |
Dr. Minie began practice in 1989 working in a multi-doctor
office concentrating on contact lenses. In 1999 he purchased a
practice in Canoga Park: West Valley Optometry. |
Dr Minie holds a Bachelor of Arts from UCSB, and a Doctorate of
Optometry from the University of Houston. He is board certified
with the ABA (American Board of Optometry).
Dr Minie is a
career long member of the California Optometric Association.
Having served many posts in the San Fernando Valley chapter, in
2010 he was elected to the COA Board of Trustees, serving as
President of the California Optometric Association in 2016. Doctors of the COA are committed to the highest level of
clinical and ethical standards.
Dr Minie volunteers one
day each month at MEND, a non-profit in Pacoima, providing eye
exams. In addition to patient care there, he serves as a
preceptor for optometry students of the Western University of
Health Sciences.
Dr Minie is blessed to have raised a
family of two daughters, Alexis and Katherine, with his wife
Sheryl, a physician practicing palliative care in the San
Fernando Valley. |

Francisca Escobar, OD |
Dr. Escobar is a graduate from the University of California, Los
Angeles. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific
University College of Optometry. |
Following graduation Dr. Escobar completed a specialty residency
in Low Vision Rehabilitation at the Center for the Partially
Sighted in Culver City.
Dr. Escobar has served as an
adjunct clinical assistant professor for both the Southern
California College of Optometry and the Western University
College of Optometry.
Dr. Escobar serves on the board for
the San Fernando Valley Optometric Society where she is
currently the President. She was named a 2017 Young Optometrist of the Year by the California Optometric Association.
Dr. Escobar is also the
Director of Optometry at MEND - "Meet Each Need With
Dignity", a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the
bonds of poverty, located in Pacoima.
She served as a
volunteer prior to becoming their staff Optometrist in 2014. As
a result of her hard work and dedication, in 2012 she was named
the MEND Vision Clinic Volunteer of the year.
